IAE V2500 Engines Power Embraer KC-390

20 May 2014. Embraer multi-role tanker and transport, Embraer KC-390 receives its power plants. The engines made by International Aero Engines.

At the first stage, six of V2500-E5 engines has shipped to Embraer. The engines will be used for flight testing, which has been delaying for half year. Flight testing should be started in the beginning of 2014.

International Aero Engines which owned by Pratt& & Whitney, states that the engine will have 31,300 lb-thrust more than enough flatting out the Embraer KC-390. The engines were assembled at Pratt & Whitney in Connecticut. After that, the engines shipped to UTC's aerostructures in Alabama for thrust reverses and engine nacelles installation.

The V2500 is the newest engine that PurePower geared-turbofan. This engines also powering Airbus A320NEO, Embraer E-Jets Series, Mitsubishi Regional Jet and  Bombardier C Series.
