Singapore Air Force F-16 Training Worth To US$ 251 Million

Singapore air force may extend its visit in Arizona's Luke air force base a little bit longer.

Apparently, United States Department of Defense offers Lockheed Martin F-16 training programme to be extended. In further action, the Congress has been notified by the authority of the possible extended training.

Defense Security Cooperation Agency states that the offer worth to US$ 251 million, if its so Singapore air force's code Peace Carvin II will stay longer in Arizona. They added that the additional programme including captive air training missiles, air-to-air tanker knowledge support, jet fuel and equipment and services training.

Singapore is an largest F-16 operator in South-East Asia region, its fleet contains sixty of Lockheed Martin F-16 C and F-16 D version. In the future, Singapore air force want to upgrade its capability of F-16's in avionics and AESA (Active Electronically Scanned Array) radars. These two major upgrade involving Northrop Grumman and Raytheon in radar section while BAE Systems and Lockheed Martin will taking care of avionics equipment.

Spokesman of Defense Security Cooperation Agency (DSCA) said that the continuation of training will enable Singapore developing mission and train experienced F-16 pilots. Pilot proficiency training will enhance operational ability with US Troops. So Singapore needs this extended training.
