Etihad "The Gulf" Airways Retires From Skytrax

8 June 2014. Etihad retires from Skytrax, a famous website that ranking airlines and airports all of the world.

In 2013 awards, Etihad lies on seventh world's top 10 airlines. In other hand, Etihad also receives best first class category, best first class seat and best catering service two years in a row. Moreover, Etihad Airways just received its first super jumbo jet Airbus A380-800, increasing its capacity and better services.

The decision comes after Etihad Airways review the benefits of Skytrax involvement in their business. They looked and reviewed how its criteria and parameters in Skytrax ranking system. Spokesman of Etihad states that Skytrax's output give them outstanding customer's feedback then they will come to continuous improvement.

Etihad Airways also step down its cooperation in Skytrax audit which contains quality improvement program and customer experience report to help airlines better.

Unfortunately, Etihad Airways will not counted for any Skytrax's awards, such as Skytrax World Airlines Awards, World's Best Cabin Crew, World's Best Business Class or the prestigious one, World's Best Airline. Currently Skytrax only awarded to seven world airlines that has 5 star rating, Etihad is not included to this list. Anyway, there is no impact to number of passengers due to resigning issue reported.
