China Eastern Airlines To Buy 80 Boeing 737 Series

China Eastern Airlines to sell most of its fleet due to aircraft's rejuvenation.

In the other hand, The Chinese carrier has a deal with Boeing to order tens of Boeing 737 series. This is a part of company strategy competing with local airlines in domestic route.

Spokesman of China Eastern Airlines said that the company to buy 80 Boeing 737 series, split to Boeing 737-800 Next Generation and the new Boeing 737-MAX. Delivery will be scheduled in 2016 and for the next for years till 2020.

There is no details about the agreement amid them, yet the deal worth to US$ 7.38 billion at list prices, if it so the aircraft will be split into 20 of Boeing 737-800 and sixty of Boeing's re-engined 737-MAX. Both model will be equipped by CFM's engines, Boeing 737-800 will use CFM56 engine while the re-engined variant will have CFM Leap-1B engines.

In addition, as part of agreement, China Eastern Airlines will sell twenty of its old fleet, contains Boeing 757 Series and classic Boeing 737-300's. They state these aircraft worth to US$ 245 million. Months a go, China Eastern Airlines was reported a big deal with Airbus regarding Airbus A320NEO's order up to 70 aircraft and selling old A300 series were part of its deal.
